ALDI is a brand of a discount supermarket chain based in Germany. They came up with the idea to use a Post Sticker App to educate their public about the environment.
The quiz app consisted of several questions regarding the environment. Next to those questions there was a picture of a footprint made out of leaves, which was actually an analogy to the term “carbon footprint” defined as the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere as a result of the activities of a particular individual, organization, or community. Every time the participant provided a wrong answer, the footprint turned darker and darker.
At the end you received your score and a short description your knowledge. In order to be able to take part in the final prize-drawing, participants had to submit their email adresses in the app. Email marketing is one of the most effective ways to reach your audience, but it’s not always so easy to obtain the addresses of people who are interested in your product.
Such an app is the perfect way to do so!
